Consistently striving to guarantee smiles not only for the recipient of the gifts but also the giver themselves, we continuously revamp our fully e-commerce website, making online shopping more user-friendly and comprehensive. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) was also integrated into the website to provide an end-to-end e-fulfilment solution, making it easier to receive feedback and thereby increasing efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Parallel to this development, an integrated call centre with interactive voice response system was introduced to reduce customers’ frustration of holding onto the phone by offering a call-back service and sending an email or SMS confirmation upon successful deliveries.

The real reward to all our efforts is the satisfaction of our customers, and in 2002, we won the 3rd Annual Intelligent20 Award. In 2006, our efforts were again validated by clinching ZDNet Asia’s SMB of the Year for using IT to derive strategic business benefits in improved customer service standards, product and service innovations. This has inspired us to provide beautiful gifts with even better service.

FarEastFlora.com is the originator of Flower Memo®, a patent-pending innovation that displays color images on flowers, and Box of Blooms®, which won the Singapore Packaging Star Award 2005 and the regional AsiaStar Award 2005. In 2006, we received the Singapore Service Class Award.

Growing from strength to strength, we are inspired to serve the Asia Pacific Region. In 2006, we made our first venture in Hong Kong and www.FarEastFlora.com.hk was launched in October the same year.

With our sights set on expansion, we embarked on our first retail venture in homeland Singapore by late 2009 and in 2010, launched www.FarEastFlora.com.my and Floristika, our one-stop 3000 sq.ft floriculture centre which is located in Bangsar – an up-scale location located in Kuala Lumpur.

Being an INTERFLORA member affiliates us with over 160,000 exceptional florists worldwide and allows us to send flowers and gifts to practically anywhere in the world.

Milestones

• 1965 ~ Far East Flora Holdings Pte Ltd was founded by 3 brothers

• 1978 ~ The first flowers and gifts department was formed

• 2000 ~ The department launched its online flower store and FarEastFlora.com was incorporated

• 2001

  • Sales in 2001 on Valentine’s Day alone was 4 times that in 1999

  • Comprehensive Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems set up, enabling analysis of consumers’ online behaviour and data-mining.

• 2002 ~ Conferred the 3rd Annual Intelligent20 Awards, recognizing it as one of the region's top 20 enterprises that use infocomm-related technologies to drive new levels of operational excellence, customer service, and innovation.

• 2004

  • Launch of CreativeWorkz®, FarEastFlora.com’s in-house floral design school, the first in the industry to launch an innovative scholarship scheme.

  • Integrated address management system set up, resulting in a reduction in the number of inaccuracies by six times, to fewer than five a month.

• 2005

  • Far East Flora.com Pte Ltd expands into mobile commerce and becomes one of the content providers in the new Starhub i-mode mobile Internet service

  • Launched World's first full-colour printing on fresh flowers— Flower Memo®

  • First batch of florist apprentice scholarship programme conducted by CreativeWorkz®

• 2006

  • Achieved the Singapore Service Class (S-Class), the certification for the business excellence niche standard for service

  • Tapped into the Hong Kong market with the start-up of www.FarEastFlora.com.hk

  • Participated in Green Thumbs 2006, an inaugural Landscape Skills Contest, recognizing the efforts of the landscape industry and employers for their commitment and support towards skills upgrading of the workforce.

  • Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Lee Yi Shyan visits Far East Flora, and gives a stamp of approval for its success since receiving a grant from SPRING Singapore.

     

• 2008 ~ CreativeWorkz® becomes a part of the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) initiative, in collaboration with the Workforce Development Agency (WDA) scheduled to be launched officially in September.

• 2009 ~ Launched first retail outlet at City Square Mall in homeland Singapore.

• 2010 ~ Ventured into Malaysia market with www.FarEastFlora.com.my and Floristika, a one-stop floriculture centre located in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

• 2011 ~ 1st Singapore Florist to create a fully-integrated mobile app for iPhones and Nokia with over 1000 flowers and gifts choices.

• 2012 ~ SG Florist rose to the ranks of the Top 30 Lifestyle Apps in iTunes stores in the month of January and February.

CreativeWorkz    

CreativeWorkz by FarEastFlora.com was established in November 2004 as an avenue for providing professional floral design and development. Providing floral design education to the public, we offer a variety of classes from fundamentals in floral design to professional floristry courses for those who wish to enter the business of retail floristry. We also produce corporate teambuilding workshops that harness a group’s creative power. Our resident instructors present floral demonstrations, floral designing services and coaching for floral competitions.
